Getting In

We recommend flying into Denver International Airport (DIA)! It is less than a 2 hour drive from DIA to Woodland Park. For a closer experience, you can fly into Colorado Springs.

Hotels

Below are the two hotels in Woodland Park where we have room blocks. To reserve a room at the discounted rate, call the hotel and tell them you need to book under the block "Hillary Sebastien Wedding" in July 2026. Rooms may fill quickly, so we encourage you to book early! The shuttle to/from the venue will be from these hotels. There will be shuttle service to/from the venue from these hotels.

Things To Do In & Around Woodland Park

Pikes Peak Highway

Ride the cog railway up Pikes Peak!

Pikes Peak Cog Railway Peak Station

Visit the North Pole (for those with kids and/or for the young at heart)

North Pole Santa’s Workshop

Go for a short walk to see Rita the Troll in Victor! This would pair well with a visit to Cripple Creek.

Explore the shops and grab a bite to eat!

Hang out in Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City

Massive petrified tree stumps of redwood trees on a short trail and lots of fun fossils in the visitors center. A good place for a short, relatively flat walk (about 1.5 miles).

Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument

Located in Colorado Springs about 30 minutes from the wedding venue, this is a classic Colorado location. You can expect pretty large crowds, but it is worth checking out if you have never been!

Garden of the Gods

Located in Divide, this is a fun place to grab a beer at 9,000+ feet!

Paradox Beer Company

We've never actually been here, but it is hard to miss when driving through town. Feel free to check it out and let us know how it is 😀

Dress Code

Cheeseman Canyon

Very pretty, but is a very popular fishing spot so is likely to be crowded. There is also a lot of short up and down parts to the trail. The river is beautiful with lots of places to wade in and/or relax by the water. If you hike the entire canyon, it is 5.5 miles round trip, but you can turn around whenever you want. <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/cheesman-canyon" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Link to trail info &amp; map</a>

Cheeseman Reservoir

Several miles above the Canyon trailhead on a very narrow gravel road. There is lots of fire damage, but still great views on the way up. The hike follows the edge of the lake, which is a Denver Waterboard reservoir so you can't go in the water. It is 4 miles roundtrip from the trailhead to the canyon and back. The first ½ mile is fairly steep and then levels out. There are lots of places to stop and take in the views of the lake and the mountains beyond. The last ½ mile or so is down into the canyon, beautiful but you have to walk back out once you go down 🙂 <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/cheesman-reservoir" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Link to trail info &amp; map</a>

Mule Creek

This hike is close to Woodland Park (a few miles north). You turn off CO 67, ignore the first parking lot and follow the gravel road for a mile or so to another small parking lot. The hike is through a small, but beautiful canyon and is relatively flat if you stop at the bridge. You can extend the hike by taking the bridge over the creek and going another mile or so up to an old, abandoned cabin with great views (this is steep, but not crazy). Limber Pine Trail at Catamount Ranch

This hike is between Woodland Park and Divide. You take Edlowe Road left off of US 24 and follow the road until it ends at a parking lot. There is a map showing a variety of trails, but Limber Pine is about 1.5 miles. This is a pretty walk in the woods and great view of Pikes Peak. The Crags

Mueller State Park

Dome Rock State Wildlife Area

Take the right-hand trail out of the parking lot and follow the creek down the valley as far as you want to go. There is an abandoned hotel about two miles in, great place to have a picnic. This area is hardly ever crowded. Hillary's Crew

Hillary and I spent our high school and undergrad years together. There are so many music memories! Mosaic Youth Chorus (where we met Sebastien), was an essential part of growing up. Hillary and I sang "Swing Life Away" for high school graduation. We went to lots of concerts together. (Counting Crows at Red Rocks, Augustana, Jack's Mannequin). Jamming at our college house, or singing in Hillary's car was always a good time.

Jessica Blechschmidt (she/her)

I met Hillary in college at CU Boulder. We spent a lot of time volunteering at the LGBTQIA Resource Center as well as responsible partying at the Pine Street house! Where I met Sebastien for the first time! Raise Your Glass by P!nk will always remind me of first Friday Tracks night on the dance floor, screaming the lyrics and pumping our fists to end long, busy weeks. 

Ardis Bluebyrd

I’m lucky enough to have known both Hillary and Sebastien for over 20 years. Hillary and I met and became fast friends when I transferred schools as a sophomore in high school. Sebastien and I met on MySpace(!) back in the day (I think we were 15?). Music has always been a part of our lives, from late nights screaming along to Jack’s Mannequin songs (and occasionally Crazy Rap by Afroman) in Hillary’s car as she raced over speed bumps in high school, to drag shows at Rainbow Alley with Sebastien singing along to Amanda Palmer and Dresden Dolls songs, we later spent years together in choir and getting caught up in jam sessions throughout our college years (Cecilia by Simon & Garfunkel was always a go-to for us).

T Schweimler (they/them)

I first met Hillary in Western Mass when I was an angry 17-year-old and she was a grad student working at the LGBTQIA+ Resource Center. We bonded quickly over pop punk (and workplace dysfunction) and stayed close ever since. I will always remember going to my first Jack’s Mannequin concert with Hillary and Sebastien (8th-grade Zeke’s greatest dream come true) and genuinely treasure the hundreds (maybe thousands?) of hours I’ve spent laughing/crying/screaming/debriefing wild drama in Hillary’s car while Blink-182 and Something Corporate songs blared through the open windows.

Zeke Shenk (he/him)

I have known Hillary and Sebastien since our 'living in Colorado' days! When Hillary and I met, she was the only person I knew that was still listening to emo punk rock music of the early 2000s. Instant connection! My relationship with Hillary has grown and evolved over the last16 years and the best and only way I have to describe our relationship is that we are Platonic Life Partners, PLPs for short. We have supported each other through some of our toughest life experiences but have also been able to celebrate some of the most amazing ones with each other. I can't wait to help celebrate the beginning of this next chapter of their story!

Sebastien's Crew

Sebastien and I met while working at The University of Colorado, EEG department. We instantly became besties!  My spouse and I were so fortunate to witness Sebastien's reconnection to Hillary and watch their love and relationship grow into the beautiful marriage it has become! There are so many songs and music genres I think about when I think about Sebastien, but I think the one that sticks out the most is everytime I hear a song by Phantogram.  Sebastien introduced me to them and I'm obsessed! 

Tarha DeMuth (she/her)

Green Day, especially the album American Idiot, will always remind me of my little brother Sebastien. His spirit has always shined bright, through his intoxicating laugh and genuine smile.  Through him, I’m constantly reminded to think bigger, live louder, and see the world far beyond the box we’re told to stay in. 

Megan Mendez (she/her)

I met Sebastien while they were living in Western Mass and we instantly clicked! One day I was invited over for a game night, met Hillary, and pretty much never left. Sebastien is my best friend, and their friendship and care grounds me every day! The three of us talked a lot about music from the 2000s. I remember being quizzed by Sebastien a lot on my memory: "do you recognize this song?" "can you name this band?". I gotta say I got most of them! But they particularly liked to quiz me on Green Day's discography.

Charlie Ruffin (he/they)

I have had the pleasure of working with Sebastien so not so much a song but the sounds the hospital machines make bring us together. From event bells to bed alarms, all the sweet tones that brought our lives together.

Katie Stull (she/her)

We met through mutual friends and became such good friends that we were roommates for 3 years! Sebastien and I spent many nights out dancing at Tracks & Charlie’s (gay bars in Denver). It didn’t matter what music was playing, we’d be dancing to it!
